Fading colors continued
The yarn I dyed some time ago was just lyeing there, in the cupboard, waiting to be used. So pretty. So I decided to knit up the cowl I had in mind for the yarn – a simple cowl for which one skein of DK weight yarn would be sufficient.
I didn’t find one skein sufficient, though. The fall weather, turning the air colder, made me want to knit huge woolly stuff, so I decided to use some of the undyed yarn together with the dyed, hoping it would fade into each other.
It didn’t really, and if you look close enough the change between the single small skeins is pretty visible – but while wearing, the difference isn’t that noticable.
I’m pretty content. The cowl is bigger than I had imagined (about 66cm in circumference), so if you want to wear it tight around the neck a pin or such is needed (the pattern actually suggested sewing on a button, but I didn’t really want to do that). I wonder if I’m gonna use it as much as I’d like?
