Home made macarons
Being in Paris without even having Macarons, I decided I wanted to make them myself. So, I bought this little book about Macarons, and I bought some ground almonds (which turns out is pretty hard to find!), and went on with it! I wanted to make red ones and blue ones, so I threw in lots and lots of coloring. I had liquid coloring for the blue, and a paste for the red. The result:
Baby blue and dark pink!
No matter how much blue I put in, it still was baby blue. Note to self (again): coloring paste is more efficient than liquid. Must admit though that the dark pink isn’t really my thing either – really, I wanted RED!
It must have been too long since I last played with food coloring. Better luck next time, I guess..
